The U.S. Small Business Administration created SCORE, the largest national network of business mentors – now 364 chapters and 13,000 volunteers -- in 1964 to help emerging and existing small businesses.

Serving Lancaster County since 1965, SCORE Chapter 16 now has more than 50 mentors -- business executives and owners, working and retired – who volunteer their expertise, experience and insight on every aspect of business.

Most SCORE services are free, including individual, confidential mentoring... and it is accessible to all. 



SCORE creates and sustains small business in Lancaster County.

For the 12 months ending in August 2011 SCORE:


• Facilitated 114 business workshops for more than 1,100 participants
• Conducted more than 1,665 free mentoring sessions for 469 clients
• Mentored 35 new business start-ups who created 75 new jobs

• Invested a total of more than 12,000 volunteer hours.
